Hello! I'm so happy you're here to experience Mauve Maven. We're a woman founded, black owned, and inclusive brand who wants to bring impeccable high quality apparel items directly to you! 

I am Brieonna Comer, a lover of fashion and wife from Texas. I created Mauve Maven in 2019 with the intention of finally creating my path in to the fashion industry. I also wanted to be hands on with clothes in particular in some capacity but in 2019, I started to seriously research and think where I wanted to be involved.

Since fashion is a very superficial industry to be in, I wasn't sure how well I would be received since I don't have "the look". I am thankful for individuals who are following their dreams unabashedly, because it is scary for how people will judge you based solely on your looks before they judge your work. I feel like we are finally shifting to embracing all people regardless of appearance or background and because of the bravery of others, and constant soul searching I am here to proudly announce that I have arrived (lol)!

So as a consumer and fashion lover, for me, growing up I felt sort of left out because I wanted to wear the cute flirty skirts like my classmates but finding them in my size or having the access was limited. I felt greatly excluded and left out of contemporary and couture brands growing up in the 90s and 2000s, but I am so happy to see the initiation and growth of the industry embracing bodies like mine.

For me, fashion started literally since birth. I have a mom who went to college for a fashion merchandising degree, therefore, every event, luncheon, or holiday became a fashion spectacle. And listen, I'm very particular with items I am willing to buy, so shopping in person is an Olympic event for me. We would've traveled to 3 malls in one day throughout the Dallas area just for back to school shopping because I had to have just the right garments to make me feel like I was THAT girl!

As I reached my preteen and teenage years, the lack of extended sizes and actual clothes that were trendy, or at least NOT designed with an ugly old lady floral prints were in an abundance. I think because I was not able to find any trendy items in my adolescent years, I was forced in to having a more classic style. I love clean lines and to dress up my outfit with layers and/or accessories. I prefer pieces that I can transition throughout the years because I know the simple and classic style will forever be "in". I back then, I would avoid prints at all costs, but now I'm learning to embrace bold and exciting designs and I want to bring that to the masses through my brand eventually. 

During the 2010s, I can appreciate the rise of fast fashion because it allowed for people of all sizes to finally have access to trendy garments at affordable prices that are splashed all over social media. We were finally able to get the same looks as any Kardashian or rapper like Cardi B, which was not accessible to the masses prior. However, the sustainability factor is an issue in the fashion industry that should be embraced and solutions need to be implemented as we deal with climate change. I want to do my part and limit the use of plastic fabrics such as vegan leather in my designs. I am interested in finding fabrics that feel superior to fast fashion brands because I want you to have garments that will last for years, instead, seasons. I want fabrics that feel absolutely incredible against your skin and not cheap. I hope to provide garments that will match up to the richness feel and look once you receive them. 

Also, I created Mauve Maven out of frustration from contemporary and high-end brands and I wanted to create garments that can be worn at the club with your girls, on a date, running errands, or at work. There are not enough brands I feel, that are covering all facets of our lives. I hope to be a true inclusive brand that provides the looks that you want to serve with great fabrics and materials that will make you feel like the queen/king you achieve to be.
